I'm really surprised at this and even more so that any vegetarian would drink so much as to get drunk in the first place. I tend to think they are super health conscious.

Im not surprised, at all.

I remember uni friends proudly living in a vegetarian share house, yet finding some lamb chops defrosting one day.

Excuse "they were free" - I guess this means they were actually Freegans?

Wine comes from grapes.

However, I don't know any vegetarians who eat meat when they are drunk--myself included!

It's easy to get drunk when you're not used to drinking. I wonder if they know they're eating something with "meat" in it or find out later.

May I kindly remind posters that they are in the Vegetarian and Vegan forum, which has special considerations posted in the sticky:

Use our main Food and Drink forum if you want to debate the merits of this worldview (but do a search first to see if your topics have already been discussed).

I think it would be fair to say that being drunk makes most people do things they wouldn't ordinarily do.

I'm not sure why this thread is even appropriate for the vegetarian forum. Seems controversial, confrontational, and against the TOS for the vegetarian forum.
