Phillip Williams argues he wouldn’t have bought the burger if he’d known it was ‘covered in meat by-products’

When Burger King announced the Impossible Whopper (a vegan alternative to their bestselling burger), they did so with the tagline: “100% Whopper, 0% Beef.”

Turns out, the statement may have been misleading. At least, that’s what customer Phillip Williams, who is vegan, has claimed in a lawsuit filed against the fast-food giant in south Florida on Monday.

Raise your hand if you knew this was coming....

*Personally, would not give him a dime. He knows Burger King serves beef, and of course the "products" could be mixed. Frivolous.

Stupidest, most ridiculous thing I have heard in a long time. I can't believe a lawyer even took the case.

#1 BK and Impossible Burger have NEVER claimed the burger to be vegan, it always states "plant based".

#2 I have seen disclaimers on the advertising that state it is cooked on the same equipment as meat

#3 I have seen signage in BK that states the burger can be cooked in the microwave as alternative

#4 Cooking on the conveyor broiler they use is probably going to give the LEAST amount of cross contamination of any other equipment out there by design. It's open and it cooks at such a high temperature that most residue should burn off in the process

CASE DISMISSED

Anyone that worried about cross contamination should not eat in restaurants that are not 100% vegan. THIS IS WHY WE CAN'T HAVE NICE VEGAN THINGS.

Frivolous and opportunistic. I would never assume anything that comes from a fast food restaurant is vegan, regardless of ingredients. Along with all of the reasons provided in the post above, I wouldn't expect minimum wage employees to have the time, training or desire to carefully handle vegan food so as to avoid cross-contamination.

Agree 100%
But really, we all should know that Corporate Fast Food America is not in the business to provide nutritious food for any of its clientele.

...because "hey Manager, please stop broiling my meatless burger on a conveyor that is used almost exclusively for broiling meat" won't get him a million bucks in a settlement.

Well then , BK Lounge would be the last place a "vegan" would visit, right?

You vegans?
You aren't maybe the slightest bit prejudiced are you?
How certain are you that this arse is truly vegan and not some opportunistic greasy burger loving meat eater?
I personally don't care what food choices anyone besides me makes. I try to do what is appropriate for me and leave what is appropriate for you to you. But as you should know, these non-meat designer burgers are being promoted towards meateaters. These corporations want your money not mine!

Hit and run litigation. BK will settle the suit for $10K, his attorney will get half.
