I don't blame McDonald's here, they make the veggie burger look too similar to real meats. I think they should have clear distinction which is which. Perhaps the current plant based food trend is flawed because they are making meat substitutes instead of educating the public that eating real veggies especially raw is better than these highly processed items that are worse for health than the raw veggies it was made from. If a veggie patty looks just just like chicken patty then it can't be good for you due to the additives and process of making it hard and crunchy. Wheres the health in it?
Well, some would say that even a highly-processed, deep-fried veggieburger is better for you than a meat one. And they might be right. I doubt anyone has properly studied that question, though.
Oh my god! It's the end of the world as we know it!
(And strangely enough, I feel fine...)

Actually, it has been studied. Not that it takes much knowledge/education in Nutrition to see that the "meat substitutes" are loaded with things most normal people already know to avoid. But, billions of dollars in slick marketing and a "convenience" product that requires zero skill, zero preparation and zero effort to shovel down their gullet will Always win.

Whether or not meat substitutes are healthier has been discussed to death in this forum. (Most say they are not as they are still junk food, and to my knowledge no one makes the claim that they are.) Do we really need to go over it again?
