I know a bit about digesters, we looked into them. Good idea, but right now the cost is so high that it would take just over 19yrs to break even and they aren't sure what the life expectancy of them would be.
Another thing we looked into was injecting manure, but the cost of equipment and the horsepower needed was very high. Emissions are far to high and would do more harm to the environment than spreading on the ground then lightly tilling the soil to cover the manure.
This article(or some very similar) has been talked about a few times on farm radio talk shows.
Again, thanks for the article. Producers need to be aware of what people want and how they feel about our practices from raising fruits and veg to beef and pork.
