I'm going on a month-long holiday and have need to clean out my refrigerator.

Today I made a variation of mac/cheese with red peppers and vindaloo curry paste. Not too much vindaloo, mind you.

It's delightful; I've still got cheesy goodness but with an interesting and delightful Indian flavor.

I will do this again.

Ryvita, avocado, alfalfa sprouts and salt. Sounds weird, but I really like it.

I ate this growing up, but somebody told me these are strange:
peanut butter and banana (peel and put on pb, take a bite, repeat)
Apples and peanut butter (cut up apple. Smear PB on slices. eat)

Both are tied for some of my all time favorites!

I found this great Vietnamese store where they cook everything from scratch...everything's to-go.
Dessert: sticky rice and corn. It's delicious and not too sweet at all. Never heard of that combo before. Tastes kind of like tapioca ~

PS: there's a sauce that goes with that's made with coconut milk - delish!

Nothing strange about either one of those!

Peanut butter & banana sandwiches are good, too! <*yum*>

Paula Deen buttered her corn with mayo the other day. I just about tossed my cookies, but she swears it is delicious.

I like to make my lentil soup with bacon and shallots. Then I blend it up and pour it over sticky rice. I had surgery a year ago and due to bladder pain following the catheter, my doc said eat a bland diet until the pain and irritation subsides. The lentils and rice got me through and I love the combo to this day. I'm guessing it is not highly unusual, but I don't know anyone who makes them like that.
