Even $100K and kids might be a stretch. Because you don't have the job yet, you can't make too many assumptions on things such as the job and housing market.

Then...people in Ventura County most be pretty miserable because the vast majority of Households make less than $100k. Heck, even in Thousand oaks half the households make less than $100k.....

Anyhow, the 25 and younger demographic seems to have a really warped perception of reality.....its pretty amusing...though tragic.

I think $100,000K with me and my fiance will work.

I am impressed with Foothill High School and Camarillo High. I like Ventura and Camarillo.

2 kids, 4 bedroom, 2 bath home at around $350,000, and being able to afford to have a middle class life (2 energy saving cars like a Prius, clothes from a mall, dining out once in a while, groceries from Costco and Trader Joes and sometimes from Lassen's, going to concerts and festivals, hiking or going to the beach, and getting coffee)

I like how there is a Kaiser Permanete in the area for medical.

I wonder what free things to do for families and 20 singles are in Ventura County?

Coming from a well-respected college, the employers I spoke were willing to negotiate with me. Since I am interning and getting a BA from a well-respected college and only need a couple months more of training to get my license thinks good. I am much more prepared than other college students.

I live in Cam and my daughter goes to Adolfo Camarillo. She really loves it. There are some really great teachers there who really care about the kids. It has the same typical issues as many high schools, but the principal seems on top of it.

The API score for Ventura High was 778, Foothill Technology is the best high school in Ventura with 914 score, but you can only get in with an application and the luck of the lottery system.

Adolfo Camarillo High school is in the Oxnard Union district and has an API score of 848. Some Cam high school students choose to go over the hill/grade to Newbury Park High with an API of 867. Newbury has an International Baccalaureate Program and a great arts/theater facility, so some prefer that.

It's hard for me to compare the two high schools (ventura vs cam) as I don't have any experience with Ventura High.

Camarillo housing is not really "cheaper" than Ventura. I would say that anything in the $250-300K range will be a condo. Houses are more like $350K and up.

Yeah I did some research and I saw a nice 4 bedroom, 2 bath 1990s suburban home on Pyramaid Avenue in Ventura.

Ventura High does have a API report of 778. Which is not even at 800. But API scores don't say everything and yes FootHill Technology School has a great score, but caps it's size at 1000 students.
