Keeping an eye on the housing market in Camarillo... and noticed that several listed houses have no central cooling.

Is the Camarillo summer weather so temperate as to make AC unnecessary, or is the lack of AC a significant handicap?

It's a subjective topic, so many points of view are welcome, especially from those of you who live(d) or visit(ed) there regularly in summertime. Thanks.

Yes, you don't need AC in Camarillo. A couple times a year for a day or two we will get the Santa Ana Wind conditions which sometimes make Malibu and the coastal areas hotter than Palmdale. You'll literally see 82F in Malibu and 69F in the desert.

Camarillo weather is as close to perfect as you can get. Just inland enough not to be overcast the entire June, just close enough to the coast (and not blocked by mountains) to prevent it from getting too hot in summer.

Lived in my Camarillo house for the past five years and have but don't use A/C; just use fans when necessary. IIRC, last year we had about a week or two's worth of temps in the mid to high 80s. The lack of A/C wouldn't be a deal breaker for me unless I was living in a small south-facing apartment with lots of windows.
