It was AMAZING! We ate at Chester's Asia Chinese Restaurant in Camarillo (VERY good Chinese food) for dinner after hanging out at Surfer's Point & Ventura Pier and Salzer's Records in Ventura!

Would love to go back up to Ventura County again and explore more next time!

In Oxnard on your next visit you can take in the Mullin Automotive Museum and the Welcome to the Murphy Auto Museum

Or the Channel Islands Maritime Museum would be another place to visit.

Boat tours are available at the Channel Islands, as well as Sport Fishing Hook's Landing

If you are at the Harbor and want a nice place to eat I would try Yolanda's Mexican Cafe | Ventura County Mexican Restaurants | Oxnard, Ventura, Camarillo, Simi Valley or if you want Pizza Toppers Pizza Place | Home

Inland I would hit up Home - The Collection Riverpark for upscale shopping and dining.

During the summer, the Second Fridays of the month you will find an awesome pre-1973 car show or Cruise night, https://visitoxnard.com/event/oxnard-cruise-night-2/ . on Oxnards historic part of town at A street between 6th and 2nd street. If your down there you may as well stop by the shops along Plaza park.

Ok, dug up an oldish thread, and the OP’s trip is undoubtedly long past, but I have to take friendly exception to the claim that a Chik-Fil-A off the freeway is the only thing going on in Oxnard. Come on....

To the OP. I see you had a nice visit. Lots of little gems in coastal Ventura County. Glad you enjoyed your time.

Mrs Olsens Coffee Cup is in Oxnard, Hollywood Beach area. Big portions of food and good atmosphere.

It's Hit or Miss in Oxnard, alot of what Oxnard is all about is gone - alot of agriculture made way for houses. There are some historic areas of Oxnard, but probably not really worth stopping at. As another poster said - take the Pacific Coast Highway from Santa Monica up through Malibu and come into Oxnard from the ocean. its a really pretty drive. That will put you near the Seabee Museum.
Take some time and drive a few miles farther into Ventura, get off at California Street and you can go up a few blocks to the downtown area and walk around - there are alot of really good restaurants and there is a small museum at the end of Main St.
Cross back over the freeway and park near the beach and go to the pier and stroll the boardwalk near the fairgrounds.
