I would like to see the Administrator add Ventura County to it's list of cities in California. It is a large enough county to be included and is a county that includes some of the safest areas with the best schools in California. Our local high school is #200 out of 1250 of the best schools in the country which is Westlake High School along with several others in Ventura County that made the list. Out of state people need to know that there are other choices other than Los Angeles which are close enough for commuting without living in the San Fernando Valley or Los Angeles which about 99% of the posts about these cities are, well, you know.

Well I agree with you, and I wish they would add Orange County too. Congrats on the high score for Westlake High, my sister went there the first year it opened.

I wonder why there are so many OC posts on the LA board, it seems to me that the Long Beach boards would be more appropriate for OC topics.

I do not know why majoun, but perhaps that is why they should have their own OC board on here just like Ventura County should too. That is the whole point of this post in the first place.

Ventura County is much more tied into LA than OC is. There is no equivalent of the "Orange Curtain" between LA and Ventura Cos. Perhaps that's because Ventura County, as a "purple county", seems less politically repulsive to us than Red O.C. Whatever the reason, there doesn't seem to be the hostility that exists between LA and OC.

there really needs to be a ventura county. A lot of people outside of CA looking in dont really know about the separate counties and the different things they offer. To a lot of people Socal is Socal, and its all the same. I have friends from out of state that tell me all the time that a 200 mile trip should be nothing , because "..it's close right? i mean it's in socal.."

Plus Ventura County should be separate because as far as the important statistics , comparing it to L.A. is like nite and day.

he's probably referring to the political climate. At least that's what I got from it.
