I lost my job in Oregon due to layoff. I have job leads but not in Oregon. One is in Chicago. The other which looks very good is in Ventura. The job pays 70-75k a year (which is a lot more than I made in Oregon). Is that enough to live on in Ventura County?

Do you have a family? If so, $70-75k is so, so. If you're single, you can live nicely. If you have ambitions for buying a house or condo, this is doable also as long as you have a down payment and good credit. Prices have come down dramatically in the Ventura area. Rents in Ventura can be high, $1,500 - $2k for 2/1 in a nice building.

At first I read this as, "I have another personality in Ventura," and I was thinking whoa that's crazy!

So you're from Oregon huh? That's where I moved from.
