What is the area like to live in? What is the economy like? Would the community be receptive to new business of the recreation genre opening there within the next month.

What are the attractions there? What are people like? Any details would be great....

Somis is very different from Moorpark and Thousand Oaks.

Somis is horse country, not a lot of masterplanned communities. Some really nice expensive homes. Rural.

Moorpark is a combination older town from the 1950s and a masterplanned town from the 1970s and 1980s and 1990s and 2000s - different phases of growth.

Thousand Oaks is about three times bigger than Moorpark. Both have rural roots; both have grown a lot in the past 30 years.

Moorpark College has the EATM zoo open to the public.
Thousand Oaks has the Thousand Oaks Civic Theater.

Both have lots of places to mountain bike and play golf.

Both are residential. Thousand Oaks has more industry and offices, mostly service, biotech and computer tech. Farmers, Dole, Countrywide, Teradyne, and Amgen are big in the area.

You can get more demographic data from the City-Data root website.

All three towns are in a region for great road cycling.
