Welcome to the area. I have many friends in Camarillo. Many of them used to live in Oxnard. We also have friends that have kids at the University Prep. All that I have heard is it is a great school.

come check out Port Hueneme beach area, we are a small beach comunity of 21,555 people, have our own police dept and we are a very safe city. I have been here since Dec 79 and i love it. You could find a nice place for $2000.00, good luck

It has been close to a year since the OP posted I am thiniking that they have found a place by now. Talking about Port Hueneme. I also love is. I grew up there, although I have lived on the North side of Oxnard since 1989.
