Employees who will lose their nice salaried jobs if the plant is shut down and we are supposed to take heart in what they say about the plant's safety.
This is comical, is this the only thing they could come up with to try and sway voters?

If they want to make an impressive commercial, the employees should drink a glass of leaked radioactive waste. Then I'd be impressed. It should probably be live too.

I suspect most of them are better educated on the subject than most. All the fear mongering just betrays the lack of knowledge on the part of the fear mongerers. To date, nothing posing a danger has happened. There's probably some higher levels of radiation in many homes and wells across the state because of the uranium in our hills...

In order to turn the entire state of Vermont into a park it will be necessary to shut down or drive out all business and industry, there-by leaving vermont to highly paid government and health workers and low paid tourism industry employees. Vermont Yankees property will make such a nice picnic area overlooking the Connecticut River for the visitors from states to the south to enjoy.

Until someone notices all the cheese sandwiches seem to be glowing in the dark.

Dont worry, it won't be long.
Less than 50% of state residents were born here, soon it will be much lower than that.

There is/has been a major conspiracy to shut down VT Yankee for years. One example? The "leaked" (no pun intended) photo of the water coming out the cooling tower. The place is supposed to be secure, how does one get a photo like that?

While they work for Vermont Yankee, they also have to be on the campus to do their jobs. I'd have a hard time being convinced to stay working at a place I thought was going to blow up at any time, much less go on television to say how safe it was if I didn't really think it was.

I agree Yankee doesn't seem like its particularly well run, but I don't think those employees are lying. I kind of feel like every time some one trips over a bucket over there its a major news story now, I actually have no idea how common some of those issues they have are.

What the heck is peoples problems with nuclear power? France gets a significant amount of its power from nuclear plants and they have no safety issues. We need power. it either comes from nuclear or fossil fuels (with a little hydro from Canada). Considering all the costs of oil (pollution, wars) I'd rather have nuclear power until we develop something better.

The plant is close to 40 years old; its license expires in 2012. The ancient, worn-out clunker is showing its age. Smart vermonters prefer kids who don't glow in the dark, so they're asking that the plan be followed. Collapsing cooling towers... tritium in the river... leaking pipes and lies about defective infrastructure... Do you really want to find out the hard way what happens with a nuclear power plant when you take the Dubie approach and keep phoning it in year after year after year?

Fear mongering...anyone who understands the science and such, understands it's not dangerous.

I really dislike people who fear monger, taking advantage of ignorance.
