My wife and I are thinking of moving north of Manchester from NY State. Can anyone give us input on Long Trail School? We got a tour last summer and were impressed. Our child will be entering 6th grade next year. Thanks in advance, this forum has been incredibly helpful in all facets of what this life change may bring!

Default Excellent school

I have not been involved in the middle school program at Long Trail School, but it has always been an excellent institution, which offers students wonderful opportunities. I would highly recommend that you pursue application at this school.

Grand daughter attended Maple Street (fantastic school) and then to Burr & Burton. Excellent education. I have heard good things about Long Trails also.

I know a teacher there who speaks positively about it. Believe me, when she has taught at less good places, she didn't hesitate to say so.

Default Thank you

I have heard good things about Burr & Burton also. However my wife and I think our son may do better in a smaller school...and he is only going into 5th grade anyway so we'd have some time to bridge before he'd go there. We need to research Long Trail more but your input has been helpful and reinforces what we've heard word of mouth when we've visited southern VT. Thanks again and I'll post again when I find out more.
