Barton, Vermont is a small town with big ambitions. The tiny burg just so happens to be the birthplace of Henry Leland: the man behind both Cadillac and Lincoln. As such, the municipality intends to honor Leland by attempting to nab the honor of the world's longest Cadillac parade from a car club in the Netherlands. In order to make it happen, the city of 2,800 people is inviting Caddy owners from around the country to join up at the Orleans County Fair.

Biggest turnout for the fair I've ever seen...and yes, 298 caddies in the parade. Smokes the 102 in the Netherlands........Hope all measurements were on. Too cute for my little town....nice for people to get excited over something so small town............... The link on WCAX must be up by now

Another goofy thing to appreciate about moving to "nowhere" Vt from what we like to call civilization. Despite the economic woes/continued political pilflerage of us all, it's just kinda nice to see the simplistic everyday life of Beaver Cleaver and people are just happy. Gotta find a new way to smile I guess and the small things do it best.
