Hi all,

I plan to drive from Burlington VT to Philly and I would like to make a stop over somewhere at the middle of the journey. But where should I stop? I was looking for a place with some sighseeing to do.

Thanks for your recommandations,

Kevin

I'd make the drive in one day, but if you want someplace interesting to visit for a night, what about New York City?

Hartford, CT, is halfway via route 91. Check out Mark Twain's house and other attractions.

We just toured Mark Twain's house. Loved it! He and his wife raised their daughters there, and they had (and adored) dozens of cats. The cats had fabulous names like Pestilence and Famine.

Harriet Beecher Stowe's home abuts it, and you can tour that, too. We didn't have time, but I'd do it next time we were in the Hartford area.

No need to stop on the way...it is only 7 hours - just drive it.

When we drive from Vermont to my family in South Florida, our first (and only) overnight stop is North or South Carolina. But some people would take four days to do it. They may like to stop, or need to stop because there are children, etc.
