Trader Joes is trying to get to South Burlington across from the University Mall. I wouldn't hold my breath though it would b nice. I like that store.

If someone would care to correct me, the only true French bakery that I'm aware of is Gourmet Provence Bakery (sister shop to Cafe Provence) in Brandon. It's about 1.5 hours south of Burlington. There are bakeries around that will make french pastries, but they do not come close to what a true French bakery can produce, like Gourmet Provence.

I would recommend that you stop by the Otter Creek Bakery in Middlebury to see if it scratches your French bakery itch. They have (or at least, used to have) excellent baguettes and croissants, for example.

I'm curious why we would need IKEA in Vermont(?). There's always WalMart for that kind of thing and Vermont has four of those.

IKEA would never come to Vermont. They build stores in large urban areas. Vermont is far from large and urban LOL.

That's right, you'll never have to worry about that in Vermont. There are just 2 IKEAs in the Chicago metropolitan area, which has a population of 9.46 million, or about 4.73 million people per store. One store is probably larger than any mall in Vermont.

Actually, IKEA is much better than Walmart for home furnishings. It's a good option for college kids and people with low incomes. I know you hate cheap crap, but some of their stuff isn't bad.
