It use to be a nice drive past the refuge in Addison but now there are 5 signs in .6 of a mile pointing out the viewing area.
Like anyone needs one at every entrance to know there is a viewing area entrance there.
Really nice, many thanks to whomever is responsible for that.
But on the up side, Rt. 17 west is starting to fall apart again. Gee, who'd have though when you didn't shim out some of the up to 8" deep right wheel damage and just paved over it, it would fail? Oh well, just another few million dollars wasted on our crappy roads.

Someone explained to me that those signs, and all the recent sign 'upgrades' (how I hate that puny new Welcome to Vermont sign at I-91 north) are the result of the state having to comply with a recent federal regulation in order to receive monies for infrastructure improvement.
If someone else knows more, or if I have something misconstrued, please step in.

Probably true. They're re-doing the signs on Cape Cod to comply with this as well, and lots of people don't like the new signs look, or how often they are.
