Hello,

Later this summer I will be moving close to the upper NY/VT border near Bennington. Does anyone know if Bennington has UberEats? I can't drive regular Uber because my car isn't new enough but have made a decent side business driving UberEats in the Atlanta area.

I realize it wouldn't be near as big or busy but it's an easy job and allows me to read between rides.

As far as I know Uber is not available in Bennington. The only parts of Vermont served by Uber at this point are the Burlington area, Rutland/Killlington and the Upper Valley (White River Junction).

Thanks Vter, Seems like Benington would be a great place for some kind of centralized food delivery with the college crowd there.

It's a really small, quiet college. Not sure how well one would do.

Northampton, Massachusetts might be a far better market for that.

Unfortunately most of Vermont barely has bus service, let alone Uber. I live in Brattleboro (a city by Vermont standards) and we have one taxi (literally one car) for the area.

Good luck to you! There are tons of little side jobs/gig opportunities in Vermont, but the only really innovative and new stuff that is flourishing here is solar power. It's an adjustment, but you'll be able to get by fine if you're willing to adapt!

Are you opposed to good old-fashioned pizza or chinese delivery? That is pretty popular.

we were just in bennington and I think uber eats, or any food delivery would have business , but do well??. the only food delivery in the city (20,000+ people) is the single domino pizza place.

there is a reason pizza hut the Chinese places etctc in that town do not deliver, but that doesn't mean you can't make a living in a niche like uber eats there.

it's a very economically depressed area but there might be enough for a single ubereats guy to get by, I say try it

I'd say its mixed. Yes there are plenty of poor folks but the two colleges (Bennington & Southern VT) plus the hospital infuse a lot of money into the area plus there is some tourist trade. The side of town by the colleges, hospital and Bennington Monument is pretty affluent. We were just down in Bennington this afternoon and went for something to eat at the brew pub on Main St., and had to wait for a seat. The recently announced $50 million project to rehab that building in the center of town will be a definite upgrade too.

Yeah, I wouldn't call Bennington prosperous but agree with Biker53. There is some money in places he noted, also heading north shaftsbury and arlington nice and well off.
