Hi all-

We're planning to hop in the car and check out NEK (from Williston). Our only thing planned right now is to stop at Trout River Brewing Co in Lyndonville for beer and pizza tonight.

We have 2 kids, age 6 and 3. Weather looks iffy today.

Where should we head for a day trip?

Also, how is the planetarium in St Johnsbury?

Thanks!

With iffy weather the Fairbanks Museum & Planetarium is a great choice. Also on the same street is the Atheneum which serves as St. J's library. There is a pretty extensive art collection within. A ride up Rte 5 to 5-A will take you to Lake Willoughby. Always a treat to drive along its shoreline.

I don't know about the 'planetarium'. My son liked the museum (the show was not running at the time) but we got a bit bored looking at the artifacts. After awhile it was 'okay, this is dull.' Some people like museums, some don't...

We didn't have to pay because we had a library discount but I would not pay full price to go there (Again, my opinion...)

Thanks. We ended up getting a late start so just did a lot of driving and roadside sightseeing on the way to Trout River. Had a FABULOUS time at Trout River. They were great with the kids and did all kinds of special things for them, basically by giving them a lot of attention. And their pizza is wonderful. The beer was great too. We used to buy it down in NH so it was a real treat to sample it right where it is made. We'll be back there when some of our friends come to visit.
