I think the author is completely forgetting how popular online gaming is (which is never exactly "finished"), but I'm suprised by the low completion stats he gives.
I only have a couple of games that I haven't finished out of 20 or 30 Xbox games that I have. I feel like I haven't got my money's worth if I don't
Im not interested in SP of games I buy tbh. I bought COD4 and never completed it becasue I wanted MP, bought MOH never even tried SP, CODBO played a few hours of it and then MP since then. The reason why MW2 failed was no real multiplayer.
Id much prefer to pay less for a game if Icould only buy multiplayer. Even $10 less would be good for me.
To not finish is a dishonor. If there's ever a time I don't finish, I shall make amends by having one of my characters in Mount & Blade use the hidden katana to commit hari kari.
I usually finish the SP, providing that they're not too overly long or difficult. When it comes to games like Call of Duty, I play through the SP first, finish it, then jump to MP. Of course, once I start playing MP, I never go to the SP mode ever again.

That's definetly true for the Call of Duty series, considering how much more involved you can be with the Multiplayer. With more sandbox style games like Assassin's Creed or GTA series, I'll finish the game and occasionally return to the game just to go back and try different side missions or just mess around. But in general, I'll play a game until I finish it, and then send it back. I've got Gamefly, so I'll have 3 games out at any given time and must-have games that I purchase.
Depends on the game. If it is good and keeps my attention, then I finish. If it is terrible and/or I get bored, then I don't. No need to waste my gaming time.
If others are anything like me, they get tired of the repetitiveness of most games before the final mission. I've finished a few like Burnout Paradise, Dirt 2, GTA IV, Rock Band 2 & 3 and most of the Guitar Heroes.

What about you?
Same here. I don't like having lots of unfinished games. I rather buy a few of them, play the campaigns, then go to multiplayer, unlock achievements, maybe buy DLC's. (That's why I got my 15th prestige in Black Ops )
And I usually sell them. Hate having games collecting dust.

I wasn't good enough to finish alot of games (like strategy games), for some reason I could only finish like platform games, FPS, those type of games. Or maybe racing games.
