We have had a PS2, PS3, Xbox and Xbox One. Years ago we had a Sega Genesis.

The Genesis was amazing for its time and I would have chosen it except it is, of course, too dated.

But our PS3 - which is one of the backward compatible ones so it plays PS2 and PS1 games - wins hands down.

It's so hard to pick just one. I LOVE my Wii because my wife would actually play games on it with me. The Virtual Console service is also nice because I can play my favorite N64 era games in progressive scan and with the brilliant GameCube controller. Then again, the 360 has provided me untold hours of gaming bliss with its huge and diverse library of games.

I liked the PS2. Jak and Daxter were some of my favorite games to play.

Cant really say which one is best, but we can easily say that each new version of a console is BETTER than the previous version. This is mostly due to rapid advancement in technologies - graphics better, performance better, speed better, RAM and memory better, etc. EVERYTHING from a technology standpoint is better with the new system - PS2 < PS3 < PS4 and Xbox < Xbox 360 which is < Xbox One. That fact is indisputable.

If you were to move on to the actual games themselves, you have to look at each developer to find out what they put in each game. Usually, the technology, graphics, interfaces, etc. are better on each new game than on the previous game. The only exception is the individual player's choice/likes/interests when it comes to the specific game and/or genre of games. For example: I LOVE Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 2. LOVE IT!! Love the maps, gameplay, weapons, etc. but there have been many newer versions of the game built with new engines, new technology, better graphics etc. that I just didnt think were as much "FUN" as the older MW2 game.

So you see, other than the newer advanced technologies in each new system, its tough to say which is the "Best" because each gamer / consumer is different.

Original PSX because the damn thing had the ability to do more but only could be utilized on an computer to show it's true nature. It has plenty of Pre-rendered as well as rendered and I do not need anything else by far. I mean yes their are more powerful things but thinking nowadays I could buy an graphics card for the price of an used PSX that has the power of five PS4 that is stupid. OTher then that could be said was the Saturn but the Saturn ( or Dreamcast ) was limited and was more or less the under-dog of the game community. And so forth. Even an PC-66 could also be on top of the pile. The PSX was tight and tiny, it was powerful and had the ability to do more then it could.

Yes it did suck to be an N64 owner without Rival Schools

This is really a hard question to answer, since I've been gaming for well over 30 years. If I had to choose just one I would vote for NES. My most memorable moments in gaming came from the NES.

Dreamcast is probably the greatest console I've ever owned. Runner up would probably be my Sega Saturn. Those are the two consoles that seemed to have survived the ages on my entertainment center. They just have too many games I love to be put away.

I voted N64 simply because that felt like the biggest jump from the previous generation of consoles.

PS4 and Xbox One are incredible, but they're just steps above PS3 and Xbox 360. The first time I played Mario 64, I was completely blown away. I can absolutely appreciate games now and how far they've come, but I don't think I'll ever be blown away like that again.
