How many new games do you see in the 1-15 dollar bargain bin... How about trading in games, which become USED, in order to buy another game that may cost more. Your long ass book failed to mention any of that. You rarely see any New games get below 20 dollars. 5 dollars is a gallon and a half of gas or bread and some butter. I bought Uncharted 3, beat it, then turned around and bought Skyrim for 30 dollars new, on release day, because of a trade in. What would of been a $120 purchase ended being $90. Saving money while getting your stuff right away does have some benefits...
Patience? It took the 1st MW 2 years to get below $30 New. Far past its peak of players, and friends, playing online.
You buy 60 dollars worth of games for 17.99, thats 3 for the price of 1. Thats 6 bucks saved for a meal or something.

Seriously, gaming's always been an expensive hobby. Yes, the cheapest new games will get is 20 bucks. Baww about it some more. If someone doesn't like it, they can just get a new hobby.
I don't have a problem with this policy, as used games hurt the industry rather than help it. That's why I don't have a problem with the concept of digital only gaming, but I understand the "need for physical" sort of deal.
Which, by the by, digital only gaming is the way to go. Seriously, if you're a gamer on a budget, Steam works wonders. PSN and the 360 marketplace often also has fantastic deals.
If this happens, it's going to backfire. Developers claim that they would get more money but people just aren't going to buy the game at all likely because they can't afford it....so they lose money anyway and don't attract new gamers. If I was recommend a game to play, if that new copy is no longer available then I can never try the game out.
Developers aren't entitled to money for a 4 hour campaign and tacked on multiplayer and a DLC released a few weeks later.
Wow. Just when I thought Microsoft might be able to pull me away from my love of Playstation... I almost always buy used games, and not from Gamestop (you mean I can buy it brand new with DLC for $60, or scratched and used for $55?). I buy from people who sell on ebay, amazon, bonanza, etc. Some of them may be wholesalers who buy directly from the manufacturer, but most of them are gamers who try to get a little back on the game they won so they can put it towards the next purchase.
No. Hour of Victory was a terrible game that I wouldn't play.
A game that is actually decent? Yes, I would pay $60 for because I feel developers should get money for decent work.
But back to the actual topic of the next XBOX not playing used games - I highly doubt that would be the case. If anything, there'll just be more instances of paying for things like the Cerberus Network if you bought used.
I could care less about the developers and their profit margin. I care about my own money, and getting the best deal for ME-
If that means I can't buy used, or I have to pay an additional 10.00 fee if I have to buy used, then guess won't I WON'T BUY AT ALL!
