I really enjoyed this game, it was just plain fun and the graphics/scenery were fantastic. I still have the song "Ukelele Girl" stuck in my head and listen to it on YouTube from time to time, jammin tunes mon!
I got this game last week on sale at Best Buy. I'm enjoying it so far. I wish there were people other than the enemies outside of the towns. They're still annoying but I do enjoy running them over though when they are traveling on foot and like their interaction with animals. I too enjoy how the missions have variety in them unlike Far Cry 2. The game appears to be more colorful. I don't understand the tattoos but the story is simple but been done before. I'm not that impressed with the story but I do like the exploration of the island though. I like the antagonist though. He's the only one saving the game's story with his unpredictable behavior. I think I should be playing as the older brother of the main character rather than the other way around.
There are friendly NPCs around outside of towns but you don't see many until you start liberating outposts. The greener the area is on the map, the more allies you will see.
Not that they do much of anything other than beg you to fix their vehicle.
I love this game. I just wish there was a way to reset the outposts to spawn enemies after you beat the game. The outposts were hilarious, especially if you came across one where you could release an aminal to take out the bad guys. But now that I beat the game and cleared all the outposts and the bounty missions, I don't have anything to use my upgraded and modified weapons on (except for animals and locals).
This sure is a great game. I'm in the Piece of the Past mission and I got a good collection of weapons now, and I can use 4 weapons too. The later Radio Towers are getting challenging to climb, and they almost give me a sense of a fear of heights and almost falling down.
Too bad Steam doesn't log how many hours you play this game.
It's the best of the Far Cry series so far. It's my main game now too, if I have considerable time to play. Great thing about getting a game on sale when it's 4+ months old is that there are a lot of free web guide for it, and Youtube videos to help you if you get stuck.
The game was fun while i could play it ,but my experience was tainted due to a glitch that happened shortly after killing Vaas. Rather than continue the story line, I attempted to go liberate all the outposts in the new map and because I was starting a new mission at the time (meeting a guy in a bar), it was killing me to get me back to the mission, at at one pooint, i got past it, but when I liberated all the outposts, I went back to the bar, and the guy wasn't there, there was nothing in the basement, nor was there anyone in the house nearby that you could enter. The mission was still showing when I would go into the menu (i.e. it said to meet so and so at the bar), but because he simply disappeared, i couldn't continue the story line. I continued to play and clear some of the other smaller missions, killing the animals and the other side missions at the outposts but eventually it got boring and I got rid of the game.
Console gaming sucks, like how do you precisely aim gunsights with a gamepad? Try going to PC gaming instead, lots of cheap sale download games for PC.

I love console gaming but I prefer FPS on a PC. Costs too much for a gaming rig and keeping up with the newer and better hardware requirements.
