It only took 7 years.PS 3 failed initially because of the price, lack of video game library when it came out, and it came out a year later than the 360 so Microsoft had a head start. It will be different this year, the PS 3 is region free which is huge for European markets.

I think the X-Box One is still going to sell because as of others have said, they still have the core people who are Microsoft through and through, but a year or two from now? I am thinking Sony is going to win the next generation of gaming consoles.

BTW, I read that the X-Box One is made out of cheap parts that could lead to overheating issues. So there's that.

Interesting, you learn something every day. maybe that's over the entire 6 year perioid that both consoles have been out?

Don't get it twisted, I myself am a diehard PS3 fanboy. But I thought, early on anyway, that Xbox totally outsold the PS3. I'm glad to be wrong.

360 did outsell, PS 3 just caught up and passed it within the last 6 months. But it took them basically the entire cycle to do that, it's not an impressive feat.

I still dont understand the preference and addictions to FPS that Americans have. I always hear the liberal v. conservative arguement about Guns in america, but now I think people really do have a problem. I mean do americans really want to shoot things up ALL the time like people are saying? Even though I dont really like Nintendo as a company its good they dont feed this gun addiction.

Even though PS4 destroyed Xbox One yesterday, Microsoft still has a bunch of diehard fans and will still sell tens of millions of consoles. Though they might end up losing the next generation console sales war, Xbox and Microsoft will be fine.
Right and Wii sales CRUSHED the Xbox 360.... I mean really there was not a huge difference in sales numbers this generation. Wii did 100 million, ps3 did 80 million and Xbox was in the middle. If you wanna see CRUSHING look at the PS2,Xbox,Gamecube numbers

It's not a winner-take-all situation. As with everything else, there's enough room (business-wise) for three players to exist ... it's just that, unless something changes drastically, XBox is looking like it'll be playing catch-up now.

My whole opinion is that MS can go screw themselves! Isn't it crazy how MS fanboys will gobble the Xbox one up despite all the drawbacks?! Not only will the ps4 be cheaper than the Xbox one ($100) , they will be used games friendly AND will not require their fans to connect every 24 hours to the internet. I mean, its a no contest, and yet, people will still buy the Xbox one.

I'm sure it'll do decent in the NA market, but the rest of the world? Ahahahahaha!

Sounds a lot like the first generation Xbox 360. During its first two years on the market, it was marred by overheating issues and the red ring of death.
