So I already have a thread on this that is 2 years old. However, I am unsure what CD policies on necroing threads is and afraid that doing so would be a bad idea.
So I thought about making my own thread that might help me out. I would like to know who here plays Guild Wars II? Who here has played this game and enjoys it?
I've played and enjoyed. Didn't really level too high but I did have fun. Stopped playing due to my massive steam log. Severs plays it also, but I believe he's in the same position.
Anytime I need an mmo fix I usually install that game
I have it, it's installed, but I burnt myself out on it earlier this year and just haven't been able to pick it back up, or any other MMORPG for that matter... Shooters yes, single player RPGs yes, platformers yes, action adventure yes. MMORPGs no, I done burnt myself on em good this time around.

We're the same in a lot of ways. MMO burnout is so very easy for me, but I think it's due to me playing Everquest for 7-9 years. Now, with Destiny, I'm in an MMO but it has a weird way of not feeling like an MMO. I still to this day prefer single player games, but I'm really trying to change that and reach out to the world! The only thing I hate about good MMO's is that you always encounter trolls or "ill" players. It really ruins the environment sometimes.

I think the problem lies in the balance of grind in MMORPGs, I've played the kind that you might as well hook up with a group and then just click "follow blarg" and go take a nap before you will level up, and then with GW2 its practically the opposite. you can level up very fast in that game and there never really seems to be a grindy type spot where you can sit and never move, you constantly have to move on to the next thing. Some people like the former, some like the latter. I myself would love to find an in between sometime where when I want to zone out I can sit and grind and keep my fingers busy, and then if I want I can just say "nope, bored now, moving on."
, and then if I want I can just say "nope, bored now, moving on."
Which is simple when you do not have a stupid subscription fee! This is why it is so simple for me to walk away from GW2. It's not a bad game, but I don't feel that the game requires all of my free time to "make up" for the subscription fee. I'll return to GW2 soon, I'm sure. Never really had any dull moments. I was turned off by the cartoony look at first, but it didn't bug me after an hour of (good fun) play.
I was really surprised that GW II could run at full power on my laptop. I think it looks cool.
