If so did you have any problems with the download? I'm debating on whether or not I should download it or just go buy the disc version.

I don't know about any download problems, but before you decide check this out:
GTA 5 on PS3 disc runs noticeably better than PSN version | Polygon
Apparently the psn version has some issues that you won't find in the disc version.
