I can't really say I'm a huge sports game fan but what the heck... I picked up NBA 2k14 for my XB1. It chose it over NBA Live 14 because it had the better reviews... by far.

It's the first basketball game I've owned since Lakers vs Celtics back on Sega Genesis (true story) and I'm impressed. Graphically the game is gorgeous... still working in the training camp mode to learn the ins and outs of the gameplay and am having a blast with it. I played a couple exhibitions with OKC (Durant + Westbrook wins) and it was like watching a TV broadcast.

This is the game to show off your new console. It actually does look next-gen!

I have it on PS3. Gameplay is good, but has some annoying flaws. I get over it though.

Basically 14 is a recycled 13 with updated gameplay. A lot of things were just brought over with little revision. The mycareer mode is almost word for word the same. The graphics, hairstyles, modes, features, etc are mostly the same.

From what I understand, next-gen is different, but career is more scripted...not sure if I like that.

I have no basis for comparison because this is my first 2k game on any platform but yeah, I've read that the next-gen version is far and away better than the 360/PS3 version.

The graphics alone had my roommate asking me what game I was watching... LOL

I bought this for XB1 as well. I have played my player up to a 98, and still find some things a bit glitchy. I find that rebounding is a little off at times, and some of the post moves are a bit off, but all and all its a pretty decent basketball game.

I'm excited to see what lays in store for the future, more preferably waiting to see what comes of NHL.
