Hello.

I was hoping someone here could recommend a few PS3 or PS4 games that they think I may enjoy. Here is a short list of what I like:

Ratchet and Clank series
Assassin's Creed series
Uncharted 1 & 2
Dragon Quest VIII
Prince of Persia: Sands of Time
Child of Light

The one thing that I think that all these games have in common is that they're quite simple. By "simple" I don't mean the difficulty. I mean the fact that each game is simple and straightforward, without a lot of bells and whistles. I recently tried Shadow of Mordor. After about 90 minutes, I decided I did not enjoy it. It simply had "too much." Not that I don't enjoy the typical RPG format (I do), but there was just sooooo much. Too many upgrades, too many un-lockables. Again, just "too much."

I hope I am making sense. I don't consider myself a hardcore gamer, but I do like the occasional foray. If you think you may have a recommendation or two, I'd certainly appreciate it. Thanks very much.

Well Uncharted 4 is out now and is a lot of fun to play through. I don't play a whole lot of new games; though Witcher 3 is a great game it may fall under the "too much" category as it is a huge world with many side quests. GTA V is pretty straightforward, but that depends whether or not you like the crime genre. Destiny is my favorite game, has the best shooting mechanics I've found. It has a lot of quests with it and is quite a "grind", but is great fun as well, with its MMO/RPGish quality.

Yeah Witcher 3, just started that a couple weeks ago - what a great and beautiful game but forget about me having any personal life for the next 5 months.

Well from that list, i can see you like Open Worlds game, Japanese role playing games(JRPG), and some third person shooters(TPS).
From the uncharted part i can recommend tomb raider(2013), rise of the Tomb Raider and the last of us. Those are safe bets and one you may like that open world and is a TPS is the infamous series. There also watch dog.
The Jrpg area is harder. There not a lot i can recommend now except old classic that are in the ps1 or ps2 classic. One i will recommend and is even made by the same company as DQVIII, Level 5, is Rogue galaxy.
That about it that comes to mind at the moment.

I second last of us. That is the one definitive game I think everyone needs to play.
