I have left out the obvious classics such as the Pac Man's, Galaga, Dig Dug, Pole Position, Donkey Kong, Spy Hunter, and rolled with a more late 80's, 90ish list.

They're still making pinball machines believe it or not...they made a new one for the Ghostbusters movie last year.
The best memories are all the guys at the UC Berkeley campus lining up their quarters on the screen of Street Fighter 2 for "next" in the early 90s.
As a kid I loved Dig Dug, Centipede and Punch-Out.
That era was amazing I'll never forget it. I was fairly young when it came out and was a mall rat at the time...the arcades in malls were like that as well and used to organize tournaments and so on.

We used to literally steal money from our parents to play in Street Fighter 2 tournaments at the mall in the early 90's.
#1. Centipede
#2. Ms. Pacman
#3. Asteroids
#4. Star Wars
#5. Dont remember the name, but it was one of the first arcade games with gun where you had to aim to shoot enemy soldiers/zombies.

Operation Wolf was one of the first gun games I believe...it didn't have zombies tho just some sort of super soldiers I think that were meatshields.
I'd nominate one. I played quite a bit of arcade games, but there is a single series that is responsible for roughly 60% of that time. That series is called
METAL SLUG.
And you can get a bundle of 4 of them for just 5$ on gog.com for the next 5 or so days It's even better on a PC, when you don't actually have to spend a ton of cash on it
A honorable mention goes to the games that always fascinated me, but I was never good enough at them to brag I wonder how many you will recognize.
Final Fight is one of my favorites. That other one I guess is the Punisher...I never saw that one nor that Samurai themed Final Fight clone.
So many I liked have already been named. To add I loved Afterburner with the deluxe cabinet. Daytona USA. Lucky and Wild. Baywatch pinball. Revolution X (Aerosmith themed shooter) Paperboy. T-mek. So many more...
The original and various edition of Street Fighter 2
