You don't need approval. Do what makes you happy. Time to move on from this relationship.

You say

"Woman you are replaceable the games are not. You want to make this into something romance get the knee-pads and assume your position".

Now you can enjoy your videogames the way it was meant to be enjoy. With your girlfriend giving you the attention you deserve while your controller is in your hand...........

-I know this is an old thread and you can’t edit thread titles but “How to make my partner okay with how much I play video games” seems like a more accurate title for you post. Woman make up a huge portion of the gaming industry. I personally played registered as male for years because I didn’t want harassment.
-I’m blessed that my husband and I both love games and our mutual love of hearthstone, well blizzard games in general, was one of the factors in our friendship twuickly turning romantic. We like playing together, listening about the others game and both bug each other to get off and go do house chores.
-We have a lot of similar hobbies but some totally not in common. My husband loves playing pool and I love watching conspiracy video for hours on YouTube. I don’t care at all about pool and he will not listen to any of my conspiracy theories and that’s okay. A good relationship should be a mix of shared interests and independency.
-your partner not liking video games is not a reason to dump them. A partner who wants you to give up anything they don’t enjoy is.
-One partner neglecting a relationship and spending top much time on any one thing work, hobby, etc is a different discussion that both partners need to deal with.
-But yeah, in agreement with a lot of posters, if video games are a big interest and important part of your life finding a partner who shares that major interest is awesome. If it’s just a hobby then there shouldn’t be an issue.

I have the feeling there’s other partners out there posting “How did I get my SO to get off video games and spend time with me”

No, not really.

Overall gaming, 48%, described as gamers playing daily is half of that as men. But it is not jsut gaming, it is the type of games. The popular, competitive, twitch streaming, games like CoD, WoT, Rainbow 6, FIFA, etc, are the overwhelming majority men, over 90% of the player base are men. Women make up the overwhelming majority on things like puzzles, tetris, solitaire, etc, are women.

While women do engage in gaming, it is a bit disingenuous as it is not the same "gaming" as the term describes in popular culture.

Half of more of the Twitch/Mixer streaming I see for Fortnite are women gamers. At least one third for Destiny 2 are women gamers. Minecraft too, huge with women gamers.

You can't say Fortnite isn't a popular competitive game, indeed I'd argue by numbers Fortnite equals or exceeds the sum of the players playing the games you mentioned.

Things are not the same as they were even 5 years ago.

I'm just happy to see women into gaming. When I was a kid you were lucky to see a girl playing Super Mario Bros.
