Epic had a contract with Sony to produce that demo, they didn't choose to demo on the PS5 because it's the superior platform, but because Sony paid them considerable money to do it. It was also frame locked to 30fps, and only 1440p, that's been lost in the hysteria, and its certainly is frame rate and resolution of current consoles.
Given the specs of both machines, the XSX has the beef for running that better than PS5 (52 GPU cores running at 1825MHz compared to 36 running at 2.23GHz) , the only possible feather in PS5s cap is raw storage I/O, its 5.5GB/s, compared to XSX 2.4Gbps, but, XSX can decompress raw SSD output on the fly through dedicated HW (not using CPU) to provide 4.8GB/s sustained, cutting PS5s advantage if data is compressed by only 50%, and that's very low compression, so I can't see any reason to not use lossless compression for game storage, lowers needed storage space, and increases I/O output, so that being true, PS5 loading time is 87% XSX, that's not a huge difference. We'll see come December. Probably earlier with the hype machines winding up.
