Hey guys, I need a good multiplayer free online game with a travel theme for a team building event at work... ideal game would be something simple - show the players a stack of pictures from a random place, each pic will contain clues about the place and then each has to guess within a set time where those were taken, the first person who is closest distance wise to the city wins the point. After the score is revealed the players can discuss about that destination including whether they have been there or if it's on their wish list.

Anything like this exist online?

The closest I can come up with is an older Edutainment game called Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego? It isn’t an online game but shares several of the characteristics you describe.

that does sound like an interesting game, I have certainly heard of it. I'm sure if it's multi player though Thanks for the suggestion.

I dont think this exists. Most games, in order to unlock parts of the map you have to explore and achieve certain objectives.
