Nintendo Switch question (problems, screen, connect)

I have no intention of playing my Switch online. Does everyone physical cartridge game have to be downloaded before I can play it? Since I have no intention of playing online and will only be playing offline.

Nope. I have some physical cartridges, put them in and play. Some newer games might require you download an update. If you play offline, having a digital copy of the game just saves the hassle of changing catridges.

I've had airplane mode turned on (no wifi to save battery) my Switch for a good month, & haven't had any problems.

I was surprised when I put my games in for the first time & there were no loading screens like the PS4 so I don't think you need an online connection for cartridges.
