Okay, here my input on the PSP...
Like I said before, its very reliable (much more than my iPod; the battery is going crazy). The newest batch of games are looking great (Tomb Raider, God of War, Resistance, Ghost Recon... definitely moving in the right direction). If you do get one, here is two words for you: system update.
Do it. Often. When I first got my PSP, it was very "primitive." You could not play music and view photos at the same time. No visual players. Limited internet. Pretty much skin and bones. Now, through updates, my PSP is compatible with certain cameras, remote play is a lot better, I can connect using a variety of methods, and, finally, I can listen to music and view photos at the same time. And this is the 1000 series. Sony just announced the start of the 3000 series (i.e.; much more capable).
I definitely recommend this to you as it offers you a wealth of opportunity, especially if you have a PS3.

of course, I doubt the OP is even paying attention to this thread anymore and has likely already made up his mind. this thread has already needlessly degraded to some Apple vs. Everything else post and has gone fully off topic. should have been closed by now

I completely agree that this topic has degraded needlessly into a direction that the OP probably didn't intend. Thread Closed.
