So now games need a "This is FANTASY. Do not attempt to recreate any scenes" type warning? ((I believe it does... but I'm not sure, I never pay attention to the warnings))

He was of age to purchase the game for himself. He can try to say that he was just trying to recreate the game scenes. However, he's 18; he should know the difference between reality and fantasy. He should realize that although a game allows you to do X, Y, or Z does not mean that you should try doing it in real life.

For all those who play Video Games, leave your fantasies with the controller, please.

This is my favorite part of the article:

Police said the youth, an obsessive player of "Grand Theft Auto", showed no sign of mental problems during questioning and had confessed to committing the crime because of the game.

Is it just me or is that a total oxymoron?

"He said he wanted to find out if it was as easy in real life to rob a taxi as it was in the game," chief police investigator Veeravit Pipattanasak told Reuters.

Oh, I see. Case closed!
Are the Thai police really that inept?

Lame... I've been playing GTA for years, and haven't yet murdered anyone, picked up a hooker, or stolen a car. I'll second arod's question - where were his parents, and why didn't they notice their kid was mentally disturbed??
