Thinking of moving from MA to Williamsburg. What are the winters like? What is a typical snowfall and is it true that you can play golf most of the year?

usually an inch or two melted by noon, every couple of years we get a nor'easter...you should know about them, and we get a foot ,it is usually in the upper 20's lower 30's to the 60's sometimes colder or warmer. it should be a cake walk after living in ma.
the residents here, hear the word snow and run to buy all of the bread, milk and hamburger thaey can carry , for fear of being snowbound,...ya see people dont know how to drive in rain down here...let alone snow!!!

htlong has it down pretty good. Maybe a total of a few inches to a foot every year, depending on if there's a 'large' snowstorm. There's one about every other year that leaves about 8 inches, other winters you get 4 or 5 snowfalls totalling a foot, and they are usually melted on the roads by noon and grass by afternoon. Maybe a day to three days of school closings or delays per year. After living in western VA, winters seem extremely mild in Williamsburg because there is no wind. Out in Roanoke/Blacksburg winters are windy all the time, with big, swirling, frigid winters. Williamsburg, especially Colonial, is very pretty during fall/winter/snow.
