Would like to know where are some of your favorite spots to go for shopping/looking at antiques in Virginia? Can be anywhere at all. I like to take day trips to do this on occassion... Thanks

Leesburg has quite a few. We went to Front Royal one day -- it had about eight (or so) dealers.

Thieves Market on Route 1 in the Alexandria section of Fairfax County or the Antique market in Sperryville, which also affords a very pleasant outing in the country.

Thanks for the ideas so far....All of the places you mentioned will be new to me. I've been to Leesburg, but that was easily 15 yrs. ago.

Many of the historic towns in the Shenandoah Valley like Staunton or Lexington. Charlottesville has a few too.

C'ville has one very fine antique store and several others. House of Jacobus has very fine mostly American antiques with great quality and history. But you pay for quality so it's not a place for $25 items. Most case goods are in the $10k and up range.

I really like the advertising.clocks on that site. We like to stop at antique places, but so many just have "foo fooey" antiques. I'll have to check it out.
