I think wytheville is just lovely! We have lived in large cities, been washed and hung out to dry by a big corporation. ...a small town with values would be such a blessing in this stage of life. Did you end up in wytheville? Is it as welcoming as it seems?

Wytheville has some basics for shopping and such, and is at the intersection of two major interstates. With that said, there isn't a lot in that area of Virginia, and it's still a haul back to Roanoke, the Tri-Cities, or the Triad for larger city things.

Wytheville is going to grow with this new construction scheduled to open later this year.

Appalachian Regional Exposition Center | Southwest Virginia's Entertainment Center

Already, there are new motels being built and I suspect new ones in the planning stage.

With this will come some new restaurants and other improvement.

I just hope that all of this won't ruin this nice little town surrounded by beautiful mountains.

Default now it's 2020

Wytheville is the place for your family! It is absolutely great! I moved here in January from Texas and haven’t regretted a minute! The seasons are gorgeous, it’s the first summer in my lifetime I have spent without experiencing 100 degree weather. A “hot” day is mid 90’s. I worked as a Dental Assistant back home and had many offers here; always see something in the paper looking for Dental Receptionist, Insurance
Claims and assistants. I went to work for the Town of Wytheville because I enjoy the perks!

You posted this in 2008 I think, do you still feel the same way??
