I just accepted a position in D.C. (downtown, close to 17th NW and F NW) and REALLY need your help on the best place to live. And fast!
My wife and I have 4 children -- all girls -- ages 9 to 16. (We also have pets.) We've never visited the area before, so we're totally clueless as to where we should begin looking.
We need to find a nice home with 4 or 5 bedrooms (preferrably 5). Around $3,000 to $3,500 per month (approx). 2+ car garage would be great...
We plan on purchasing, not renting.
Commute: Would REALLY prefer an hour or less to get to work, if possible. I plan on taking railway/public transportation.
Kids would go to public school, so we'd prefer a good school district.
We'd like small/medium city feel. Prefer a comfortable city where we can enjoy dining out on occassion.
Your thoughts/suggestions are greatly appreciated!!
