Check out Northern Virginia. I think your job options will be more plentiful and we find it to be very family friendly.

Thanks for all your quick responses. It is very helpful. She was able to find jobs so far in the Manassas and King Williams area. Does anyone have any feedback on those areas?

I assume here you mean Prince William County, which surrounds the city of Manassas. There is a King William County in Virginia, but it's a largely rural area northeast of Richmond.

Manassas and Prince William both lie within the sphere of northern Virginia and largely serve as bedroom communities for people who work in D.C., Arlington, and the Dulles corridor. Manassas is a compact city with a historic downtown area and about 37,000 residents. Prince William County now has over 400,000 residents thanks to suburban and exurban sprawl. Since your jobs may be in Manassas or Prince William County, you do have the option of looking further west (e.g., Faquier County) where you can find less densly-populated communities.

Don't know King Williams area but Manassas is far enough out that you could live around there, or even further out and have some country around you. There are three separate school districts in the Manassas area, the City of Manassas, the City of Manassas Park and Prince William County that surrounds both of them but will have a Manassas mailing address in that part of the county. Different opinions about all three districts are out there, but it may come down to who has the offer. A great teacher is a great teacher no matter where they are. Again, good luck to both of you.
