My husband and I are considering a move from Old Town Alexandria to Vienna (near the Wolf Trap and Hunter Mill Road exits on the Dulles Toll Road). A major factor in our decision will be the increased commuting time for my husband (I work from home). He works near the King St Metro station in Alexandria. Does anyone out there commute from the Hunter Mill Rd or Wolf Trap exits to the 495 Alexandria - Telegraph Rd exit in the morning (and reverse in the evening). If yes, what is the typical commute like? Where are the bottlenecks/slowdowns? How long is it in the morning and evening? What time do you leave home and work? We are assuming the best route is to take the toll road to 495 and go around the beltway to Telegraph. If there is a better route, we would like to hear about that too.
