My husband and I found a cabin 30 miles from my parents out in the sticks of Louisa County. We both grew up in VA (him in Edinburg me in Stafford, Fredericksburg, and Bumpass), but came to Alabama five years ago. We love it here, but my parents need help and I'm an only child so we have to move.

Contacting the county goverment
County of Louisa, VA , Most people use a shallow well vice cistern and I don't believe their is a restriction on composting (out house) style facilities. Odds are they will require the property to pass a PERK test for a septic even if you don't anticipate having one.
