Staunton Snow Fall (moving, area, pay)

I am tryoing to get a grip on the average snowfall levels in Staunton. What is it really like as far as amount of snow, accumulations, and anything else for a southwest desert dweller that may be moving there!

Even using that information, I cannot grasp the reality of what it means in the real world.

If you look at the graphs for Staunton and Chicago, they are pretty much even except that is shows Staunton with more snowfall. I have been to Chicago when it snowed. I’m trying to understand if the charts realistically are showing that Staunton in the winter is worse than Chicago in the winter as far as snowfall is concern.

I know this is not an exact answer, but it truely varies from year to year. There have been winters where we get multiple snowfalls of only 2-3 inches each time, then the past few years we have had only 1-2 big storms each (10 to 20+ inches). The rest was cold rain or ice. It really depends on the natural weather patterns, that being said the area is more than equipped and ready for snow. If you just give the plows a couple of hours head start you can get anywhere. It's the people that can't wait that pay for it.

The weather changes fast here in the Spring & Fall, there have been days that start out in the 60's and by the afternoon there are snow flurries.
