Old Town Winchester has a cool walking mall area. Plenty of events down here as well. The town has some beautiful old historic homes and it has its run down areas as well. While in the country compared to the close by DC area it does have its busy areas. The exits of 313 and 315 off of I-81 can be really busy with traffic. Stephens City is a popular residential area and the homes there sell quickly. It's a few miles south of Winchester proper and a nice family area. Drugs such as heroin have been an issue in the last few years but in reality where is it not an issue? My kids never lived around here so I am not much help on the schools.
