Hi, I am so thankful for this site!
We are looking to relocate to TN or VA. We have young children so school district is number 1. I am a teacher my husband is a truck driver. We want to be in a quiet community, small town, at least an hour away from any major city (preferable 2 hours or more), we'd like a lot of property, and an area where homes are around $200-250K for a 2-3 BR. I have started looking into C'Ville which looks nice but kind of young and busy for us, maybe an area outside C'Ville? Also checking into Chesterfield. Any input would be so greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Look into the Richmond area, such as Midlothian! Good luck!

Thanks! Midlothian was highly recommended but appears to be too close to Richmond for my husband's liking :-(

I have a suggestion: look at Powhatan, Goochland, and Louisa...they have some homes in your price range. They're a little further out than Midlothian from Richmond. And depending on where you live in Louisa, you are about 40 minutes from either Charlottesville or Richmond on 64.

Search for the Winchester information. Great small city with all the benefits and a little more than an hour from DC. I-81 is a major trucking route and there are a lot of distribution centers up and down the road. Easy access to tri-state area (Va, WV, MD, and even add PA)

Agree with Winchester. You'll need to move out into the country for that price range but you'd be in a beautiful mountain area. Winchester is growing but is far from a big city. You'd be 90 plus minutes from DC.

Maybe the Farmville area. Pretty rural, not too big of a city about an hour west of Richmond. Always looks like a nice/well kept town whenever I drive through.

Thank you so much for the suggestions! Any feedback on schools in Farmville or Winchester?
