I live in Northern Virginia. I was driving home from James Madison University. I got pulled over in Front Royal for going 91 in a 70 mile zone. I'm 20, and this was my first speeding/reckless ticket in my life. I feel guilty about it and I learned a lesson from it. I have to go to out of country right after a court day. I'm wondering is it okay not to hire a lawyer.

If you were smart I would hire an attorney. Over 90 is a little tougher to deal with by yourself. I'm not all that familiar with the Warren Co courts but if you can swing it you should get an attorney.

Reckless is a misdemeanor crime. You don't want that on your record especially at 20.

Misspelling is deliberate attempt to lower the likelihood of this site popping up on Google searches. It would be unfortunate if this website becomes the primary Virginia traffic advice hotline. There are only so many angles for seeking options post-speeding ticket.

It is only ok not to hire a lawyer for reckless speeding tickets if you are broke.
But if your car is good enough to still be able to go 80+, then you are not broke.
And always hire a lawyer that is local to the court where your case will be handled.
They know the court, all the judges and prosecutors and even the cops.
