Good evening.

Nice to know after nearly two decades of "donating" a fifth of my paycheck each and every week, making sure others in need don't go hungry, now that I'M in need it's tough sh*t, chump.

All within an 18 month period I have lost my job, my home of over 20 years, my cars, and I am malnourished for the first time in my life. My wife makes $500 PER YEAR too much to qualify for food assistance from the Gub Mint. (and unless you have 7 or 8 kids, forget it). Once a month they graciously provide a bag of emergency goods to last 2-3 days. Amazingly, we can make that last for two weeks, but the rest of the time we usually fill up on tea and water, and make a bowl of plain macaroni every other day as a "meal". The real insult, is my wife works in a grocery store and every day has to swipe peoples EBT cards and bag up "deys skrimps n' lobsta".

I am lethargic, depressed, CONSTANTLY hungry and am in livid disbelief that I am not afforded the same help my tax dollars have provided all these f#@*%g years.

Cut back on luxuries? Let's see. We don't have cable, our TV is an old 19" model that doesn't even play since they went digital. We have no land line. My wife has a cell but we can't afford to replenish the minutes this month. Her car is a 14 year old econobox with 150K miles. We don't celebrate any special days with presents or dining out. Vacations? sure, 8 years ago. No dining room furniture (not that we need THAT, with no food), no living room furniture, no bedroom furniture (all this was lost with the house). We schedule our sleeping hours because the Walmart $19 air mattress isn't big enough for two. I've been wearing the same pants and shirts for almost 3 years now (she luckily gets issued work uniforms). All of our middle class leisure type toys and "harry homeowner" possessions have long since been sold off to sustain us thus far. Our apartment furnishings consist of an office desk, an office chair, a card table and a folding chair. I really don't see where we can cut back anywhere else. Oh yeah, TP? When my wife changes the rolls at her work she brings home the near empties. Any cut backs we've missed? Thank Satan we're still fairly healthy, because if we had any medical or dental expenses it would be Game Over for us.

It doesn't matter to me anymore. I pray I go to sleep and never wake up. But of course God won't let me off that easily, He loves to watch people suffer. Vile sadist.

In the meantime though, WE need help. We live in King George and need to find ANY nearby food pantries. There are many food banks in Fredricksburg, but we need to keep as much gas as we can, and can't travel that far.

I am sorry for your situation.

The King George Church of God has a food pantry:

King George Church of God | Food Pantry

I would suspect that other churches in your county may also have food pantries.

Good luck.
