Security Drive is on the Eastern side, just over the line from Winchester City to Frederick County. It is a growing area, with a huge new FBI center and headquarters for Navy Federal Credit Union. I would not want to live on the Valley Ave side where you were looking and commute to the other side of town each day, as it can get pretty congested for a smaller city.

The Ravens and RavenWing are 2 very nice developments very close by to that. It's an established neighborhood, and they are building new homes there too. It'd be a 2 min commute.

If you need a realtor, I have an excellent one to recommend.
Thanks so much Bobamike for all your kind help. All the info and insights have been extremely useful for us and given us a lot to think about/look at. Yes, he is at Navy Federal. Thank you for the information regarding the traffic and location. We probably need to take that into account when looking. My husband also mentioned the traffic lights, so that would make sense especially as the Valley Ave is the other side of town. Will have a look at the Ravens and RavenWing. Thanks again so much for all the help today.

It’s very helpful for us as we are not really familiar with either area. Thanks so much for the area recommendations provided by you and Bobamike, it’s given us more areas to have a look at.

The realty company sounds very good. We have a Virginia realtor at the moment (the one that we used when we were initially looking to buy a place closer to where my husband’s current office is) and we would feel bad not to try use them here. I will keep the place in mind though.

I have been reading about the Apple blossom festival and hope to experience it. Thanks again for all the info and help.
The Bloom is unbelievable fun! The people who live on Washington and Stewart (parade route) have lawn parties and as you get to know people, you’ll be invited and everyone goes house to house eating and drinking! I really miss those days and lovely people. Thank goodness for staying connected by Facebook!

I don’t miss a single thing about Purcellville.

LOL. A WPD friend of mine, just retired, said the thing he is most happy about is never having to work another Apple Blossom Festival again. When you have to deal with the drunks, fights and so on every year at events like these you understand the sentiment.

I’m sure that the case with every festival nationwide . . . Imagine Mardi Gras in New Orleans, St. Patricks Day in Savannah, Boston, Chicago etc.

God bless police officers for everything they do.
