Rocky Mount, VA
I live about 25 miles from the town of Rocky Mt. It is a growing community south of Roanoke(about a 30 minute ride). It is the closest town to the upscale, expensive Smith Mountain Lake area. It has changed considerably in the last 10 years as more upper income people have moved to the area. The town itself is still country like, with its downtown farmers market and friendly locals. It has a southern feel. Every time I visit there I see new shopping centers going up, houses, etc. Rocky Mount is a nice place to live, good schools, close to the lake, Roanoke, outdoor activities everywhere. I would live there!!
